S. C. Lee Partner

GSIF Partner S. C. Lee was formerly President of Microtek Lab, Inc. In that capacity he successfully managed both the US and European operations of its parent, Microtek International, Inc., one of the top scanner manufacturers in the world.

During his tenure at Microtek, S. C. was instrumental in creating the desktop digital imaging market, growing the company to be No. 1, selling over US$100 of scanners in the quickest time and maintaining a top profile in the industry. He also played a key role in many product development efforts and in opening up the Asian and Latin America scanner markets. Additionally, he helped forge major alliances with Adobe, Agfa, Apple, Dell, Lexmark, Olivetti, Polaroid and Scitex, all industry powerhouses.

After retiring from Microtek, he founded Entrospect Solutions to provide consulting services on product planning, marketing and business development strategies to fast-track technology companies. Among his clients are Visioneer, BuyDeal, Wandl, General Bank, Match Lab, Technology Associates Management Co., InnoMedia and GloMax Technology, covering network planning, Internet infrastructure, e-business, Internet telephony, digital imaging, venture investing and other promising development areas.

Mr. Lee started his career in academia teaching mathematics at the University of Washington in Seattle, before joining Dynamics Technology, Inc., a defense research company in Southern California. Over there, he guided R&D activities in computer simulation & software development, rose to Principal Research Scientist and contributed to the establishment of DynaTech Taiwan subsidiary that fosters a number of significant technical interchange projects.

S. C. holds a Ph.D. and an M.A. in Mathematics from Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts.
